Fun, Friends, and Big Jumps! – Saturday 26/10/2024
This Saturday in Ireland was amazing, full of games, learning, and tons of fun. As part of our exchange program, not only have we been improving our English, but we’ve also enjoyed experiences that help us understand Irish culture more and grow closer as a group. This has been one of those weeks we will remember for a long time.
We started with an English class focused on improving our writing. Connor, our teacher, encouraged us to write about topics that connect with our personal experiences here in Ireland, which made the exercise enjoyable and easier. Practicing writing is very useful for all of us since it helps not only in class but also in our everyday life, where we’re using English more confidently each time. It was a fun class, and we all paid attention and participated, sharing ideas and laughing about our stories.
After the class, we had our lunch break, and we organized a small soccer game in the yard while we ate. This mix of sports and relaxation has turned into a kind of tradition among us, giving us a chance to unwind and have fun together. We played with lots of laughter and good vibes, enjoying a time that always helps clear our minds and strengthen our friendships.
But the big adventure of the week came after the break when the bus picked us up to take us to JumpStreet in Carrick On Shannon, a huge trampoline park full of surprises. From the moment we got on the bus, you could feel the excitement and nerves building up. When we arrived, the entrance was impressive, and when we stepped into the trampoline room, it felt like entering another world. There were trampolines everywhere — on the floor, on the walls, even on raised platforms challenging us to jump higher and higher.
At first, we were a bit cautious, trying to figure out how it worked, but soon, our shyness turned into pure adrenaline. We were jumping and trying different tricks, from simple jumps to twists and landing on our backs or stomachs. Every fall on the trampolines made us laugh and encouraged us to try something new. There was also a foam pit where we could jump without worrying about landing badly, so we took the chance to try flips and bigger jumps. It was amazing to see how everyone got braver with each move.
Another highlight was the game with giant balls. The goal was to try to throw the balls at each other while keeping our balance while jumping, which sounds easier than it actually is. There were lots of falls and accidental bumps, but it was all laughter and fun.
When we thought we had done enough exercise, we still had energy to explore the arcade area in the park. Here, we tried different machines and classic arcade games, which were a great way to relax after so much activity. We laughed a lot, trying to win prizes in the claw machines and competing in racing and shooting games. Some of us even won small prizes, and everyone enjoyed the friendly competition and fun in the games.
After all those activities, it was finally time to recharge with a good meal: fries, nuggets, sausages, and sodas. It was the perfect feast after such a full day. Some of us also got a slushie, the perfect way to cool down after so much exercise. During the meal, we shared our impressions of the day and laughed, remembering the funniest moments on the trampolines.
This day was much more than just a trip; it was an experience that brought us even closer together and gave us unforgettable memories. Every week in Ireland brings something special, and this one — with the visit to JumpStreet, the classes with Connor, and the fun at the arcade — has definitely been one of the most memorable. We can’t wait to see what new adventures are in store for us in the coming days!
