Last Saturday marked our fourth weekend in Ireland, and time seems to be flying by faster each week. This particular weekend was also special across many towns in the area, as it was First Communion time for many Irish families. As a result, three of our students—Kinga, Anna, and Dènia—spent the day with their host families, celebrating this important occasion. They were thrilled to take part in the joy of the day as true members of the family and to experience a meaningful Irish party from the inside. For that reason, instead of our usual group of ten, we were seven girls this Saturday.

We began the day, as usual, with our English class followed by a small snack.

This time, we stayed in Carrigallen to enjoy a morning full of sports and group activities. The weather couldn’t have been better—bright sunshine and not a single cloud in the sky. It would have been a shame to spend such a beautiful day on a bus, so staying local was the perfect choice.

After class at the Old School, we walked to Carrigallen’s football pitch, where Harry was waiting for us with plenty of games and activities. The girls had a full morning of exercise, movement, and fun. Although it was warm, a light breeze kept everyone comfortable between activities.

At 2:00 p.m., we returned to the village and had lunch in the shade of a tree near the Old School—much appreciated after spending the whole morning in the sun. In the afternoon, we treated ourselves to ice cream and played in the village park before slowly walking back to Saint Mary’s Church, where the host families were waiting to pick up the girls.

It was a calmer Saturday, without a long journey, but one that the girls made the most of—burning off energy, staying active, sharing laughter, and, as always, exchanging stories from the week.

Warm regards, and see you next Saturday!
