Today was a very special day, full of emotions and unforgettable memories. This Saturday was not just any Saturday; it was the last one in our two-month adventure in Ireland. This country has welcomed us with open arms and given us an experience we will never forget.
We started the day in a unique way. At 9:30, the priest visited us for confessions. It was a moment of peace and reflection, perfect for thinking about everything we have experienced during this time. These two months have been full of learning, challenges, and discoveries, and taking a few minutes to reflect helped us appreciate the richness of this experience even more.
After this spiritual pause, the celebrations began. We all got together to celebrate Pablo’s birthday with a delicious cake that we enjoyed in a cheerful and family-like atmosphere. Laughter and good humor filled the morning as we prepared for the main activity of the day: a visit to Boda Borg Lough Key, a place full of fun and adventures.
Before starting the activity, we had a special moment to celebrate Ibai’s birthday with another cake. It was a touching moment that made our last weekend in Ireland even more special. Two birthdays in one day. There couldn’t be a better way to say goodbye to this incredible country.
Boda Borg is a place that combines the mental challenge of escape rooms with the physical excitement of adventure circuits. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was going to be a unique experience. We split into teams and started exploring the different themed rooms. We visited a mummy’s room that felt like an Indiana Jones movie, a farm full of surprises, a journey around Ireland, a jungle with amazing challenges, and many others.
For two hours, we worked as a team, solved puzzles, overcame obstacles, and, most importantly, laughed a lot. Each room was a new world to discover, and the excitement of every challenge kept us on the edge. It was an amazing way to enjoy our last Saturday in Ireland, combining fun, teamwork, and adrenaline.
After all that activity, we took a break to eat and regain our energy. We sat together to enjoy lunch, sharing our experiences in the rooms and laughing about the funniest moments. After lunch, we played outside in the recreation area. The good weather was with us, and we enjoyed a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere.
To end the day, we treated ourselves by visiting the shop and enjoying ice creams and slushies. It was the perfect sweet ending to a full day. With happy hearts and renewed energy, we returned to the bus that would take us back to Carrigallen, where our host families were waiting for us.
As the bus traveled through the Irish roads, many of us thought about how quickly these weeks have passed. These two months in Ireland have been a unique and unforgettable experience. We have not only improved our English but also experienced a deep immersion in the life and culture of this country. From the green landscapes and historic cities to the traditions and the warmth of its people, every moment has left a lasting impression on us.
We have learned to live together, adapt to new situations, and value the richness of sharing our lives with families who welcomed us as one of their own. Every trip, activity, and conversation has contributed to our personal and academic growth.
This last Saturday was a perfect example of how we have combined learning and fun during this experience. It was the ideal closing for two intense and exciting months that we will always remember with affection.
Thank you, Ireland, for so many adventures, lessons, and unforgettable moments. This is not goodbye; it’s see you later.
