On Tuesday, we went on an amazing trip to Cavan Burren, a beautiful natural park located on the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. This place is known for its ancient stone formations and hiking trails that lead through a unique landscape filled with history, including fascinating Neolithic stone structures called dolmens.

Since our trail was a circular route, we started and ended in the same spot, which made it easy to enjoy everything along the way. As we walked, the students had plenty of time to chat, laugh, and get to know each other better, creating a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. We even had a fun, unexpected learning activity: we found some old tree stumps along the trail and tried to guess how many years the trees had been standing there by counting the rings on each stump. It was amazing to see how the circles in the wood told the story of the trees’ lives, showing their age and giving us a chance to learn something new about nature.

After completing the first half of the trail, we arrived back at the starting point, which was a perfect spot to sit down and have lunch. We rested in a nice open area where everyone could enjoy the break together, sharing stories and laughs from our walk. After lunch, someone took out a football, and in no time, the open area became our very own football field. We had a fantastic time playing together, with everyone joining in. The game was full of laughs, and it was the perfect way to make the day even more fun.

With full bellies and high spirits, we decided to continue our hike, this time exploring the second half of the trail. On the way back, we discovered a small cave that we hadn’t seen on our first walk through. Some of the more adventurous students decided to go inside the cave while the rest of us watched from outside, cheering them on and taking photos. The cave added a bit of mystery and excitement to our day, and it was great to see the bravest ones explore it.

Finally, our bus was waiting for us at the starting point to take us home. Even though everyone was tired, we all got on with smiles on our faces, happy to have spent such a great day surrounded by nature and good friends. This trip to Cavan Burren gave us not only amazing memories of beautiful landscapes but also a chance to learn, play, and grow closer as friends. It was the perfect day, combining history, nature, and friendship in a way we’ll never forget. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure!
