Happy Easter Monday!

For us here, it’s just another school day, but this last Saturday we had a great time enjoying the nature at Lough Key Forest Park.

We met early in the morning to continue preparing for the exam we have in two weeks. The nerves are starting to show!!! But Sarah is preparing us well, and our English is super local now!

After working hard during these two hours, the bus came to pick us up and took us to Boyle, County Roscommon. We enjoyed the day there; some of us relaxed while others ran around.

Lough Key Forest Park is an 800-hectare park that shelters picturesque ruins, including a 12th-century abbey on tiny Trinity Island and a 19th-century castle on Castle Island. One of the iconic features in Lough Key Forest Park is the Big Tree, where the girls headed straight away and spent most of their time playing.

We also took a walk and saw the tower that the king used during that era to view the entire park area. In case of an invasion, the tower allowed them to see the enemy.

After enjoying a delicious ice cream, we returned to our homes, where our host families were waiting for us to have dinner. I think having dinner at 6 PM is something we still have to get used to!

See you next week with more adventures to share.

Hugs!!!
